Kenya’s boss-lady Muthoni the Drummer Queen teamed up with Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones and Nigeria’s MI for her new single Turn On The Lights.Produced by Swiss Production duo Jean ‘Hook’ Guisbuller and Greg ‘GR’ Escoffey, the heavy hitting track alternates between energetic, bouncy trap supported by a non-relenting bass line and a spaced out drum heavy chorus, which allows the rappers to deliver their witty, double-entendre punch lines with razor sharp precision and unmitigated flow.
MDQ’s verse is delivered in sheng and proves yet again her poetic depth and fearless attitude as she mocks her imitators while running laps around other rappers. Khaligraph delivers in his characteristic double time flow, while MI’s verse is filled with metaphors and witty commentary.
