Flushing the toilet after 10pm outlawed

It is against the law to flush the toilet after 10pm in Switzerland.

The Swiss are very particular about noise pollution. Flushing the toilet past 10pm when people have retired to bed is considered as noise pollution.

Sundays are very sacred here as they are considered relaxation days. Mowing the lawn is considered disturbance and hence outlawed on Sundays. More intriguing is the fact that you cannot hang your clothes to dry on a Sunday. Nobody wants to see socks waving in the wind during their Sunday stroll!
