GOSPEL singer Rufftone will be getting a diplomatic passport after he was reappointed Korea's goodwill envoy for public diplomacy.
The Mungu Baba star described the appointment as a "golden opportunity. I want to demystify this role from it being a paper work kind of position to an action oriented one." The singer will be tasked with making
Korean culture and lifestyle known in Kenya and East Africa as well as expand public understanding of a broad range of cultural initiatives that Korea can engage in. "Many Kenyan youth have potential in many facets of society from sports to entrepreneurship to leadership to arts and culture. I will be looking for ways to marry this with Korean culture during my two-year contract," Rufftone said.
Famed for hits like Mwikulu and Walala Yaye, Rufftone will travel to Korea for a week . As is customary with holders of diplomatic passports, the Kenyan actor will enjoy privileges like red carpet treatment
by international governments and no tax liability on income from outside the host country. He will also not be subject to time delaying and annoying customs checks, a chance to meet top-ranking government officials and heads of state, among other perks.
