Watch your weight or else!

It is illegal in Japan to be  fat! Despite the fact that Japan boasts of the world’s  lowest obesity rates, the law  makers were not deterred  from setting a law that limits  the size of one’s waistline.

 
A  man aged 40 and above must  not have a waist measuring  80 cm or above and every  woman, 90 cm and above.

Those whose measurements  fall outside the established  range, are required by the  law to seek medical treatment. Here you eat fries and miss gym sessions at your  own peril.

Ironically, Sumo wrestling;  a sport designated for plumb  gargantuan men, boasts of its  roots from Japan.
