The Kenya Premier League is now changing its name from Tusker Premier League to SportPesa Premier Legue.
This is after the biggest football betting company in the country signed a deal with the premier league body .
SportPesa has signed the 4 years deal with the KPL after the previous contract with Tusker signed in 2013 expired.
Sports Pesa Chief Executive Officer Ronald Karauri has said that they sponsor the league to help promote football in the country.
"We have already had our experience with the on-going Super Eight tournament and want to transfer the same to the Kenyan league”, Ronald said.
KPL chairman Ambrose Rachier on his side said that their aim is to grow Kenyan football to among the best in the world and that the SportPesa sponsorship will help them achieve their goal.
"One of our main objectives as KPL is to use sponsorship to develop our league and we hope this new support will help us achieve the same." Ambrose said.
