Safaricom turns witnessers into celebrities

Kenyans laughed at them, made fun out of them, djs made their way of explaining the situation a drop and played it almost everywhere in their mixes.

Am talking of Jose the Witnesser (Joseph Mburu), Jane Anyango Adika of (Serikali Saidia), Bonoko (James Kang’ethe) and the 'Kifikifi Witness' (Alice Wambui).

These four are now the talk of the town as the biggest Telecommunication company Safaricom use their faces in an advert.
They are the new faces of Safaricom and they will appear in TVCs to be run on most major media outlets.

They have landed the deal with Safaricom to advertise their latest “Story Ibambe” promotion. This is because of telling their stories in a different way.

This is what made them famous:

Former street boy James Kang’ethe aka Bonoko, now a presenter at Ghetto Radio, witnessed a robbery attempt.
Jane Anyango Adika is famous for her distress call ‘tunaomba serikali, tuko mbaya sana”, she said this during a flood.,
Joseph Mburu, also known as Jose the Witnesser and famous for his line ‘ni kama drama, ni kama video”
Alice Wambui, the kifi kifi woman is the woman who witnessed a kidnap attempt.

Though no one has revealed the figures in the deal, it is obvious they will not get peanuts and this may be their time to prosper, promotion to better feeds.
