Kenyan rapper Shrekeezy dies in Tanzania

The family of the late Kenyan former radio and TV host, rapper and actor Simon Njoroge aka Shrekeezy (pictured), is appealing to well-wishers to help bring home the body of the departed artiste for the final send off.

It was claimed that Shrekeezy died after drowning in the Indian Ocean in
the Mbudya Island, off the Dar es Salaam coast in Tanzania, on Saturday while
swimming. The body of the 27-year-old rapper was found three days later on
Tuesday after an extensive search.

“The problem is, the family is not
in a position to fly the body back to Kenya from Tanzania due to the cost
implications. Your contributions towards helping this gentleman’s family bring
his body back home will be highly appreciated,” read a statement from the
Kenyan celebrity charity organization Entertainment With Fun 4 Charity.

Shrekeezy is well known for his chart topping 2014 single, Down For My City, where he featured various African artistes including STL, US-based Kenyan
rapper Kanja, Nigeria’s Afro-pop artiste Wondaboy, Ghanaian actress Juliet
Ibrahim
and UK-based Sierra Leone singer and music producer Silvastone.
