Avril was provoked by reports from sections of the media insinuating that she is no longer engaged.
"Our love is alive and well. We don't have to announce to people about how we live . That is for reality show stars!"
Avril told NEWSPOT254 when we asked her if she was still engaged.
"Like I always say, my life is not a secret, but it's private all the same: she said.
Avril announced her relationship status in 2014. Her fiancée proposed in Cape Town at The 12 Apostles Hotel. He had visited the restaurant earlier in the week and made all the plans.
He made sure the chefs, waiters and management knew about the plans.
She revealed that she prefers a traditional wedding, raising suspicion that she's
getting married soon.
In a previous interview, the Kitu Kimoja singer had said that they were taking some time before walking down the aisle, since she is Kikuyu and he is Zulu.
