Nollywood movies star, Desmond Elliot, has intimated that his acting career will take hiatus to make time for his political career.
The Nigerian actor said that his budding political interest demands a big chunk of attention so it is only wise to take a break from the screen.
Desmond told Myjoyonline at the 2015 MultiChoice Africa Content Showcase in Mauritius that juggling acting and a state office might portray him in a not so professional light.
“The work of a legislator is not easy. I will be seen to be very irresponsible if I was acting while I have a lot of legislative responsibility,” he said.
The award-winning star has vowed to help stamp piracy out of the Nigerian film industry. He also promises to nurture upcoming actors and see to it that Nollywood has a proper growth structure.
