DJ Pinye's efforts to support local music have not gone well with some key industry players.
Recently, he introduced a challenge dubbed 'Strictly Kenyan' that seeks to play Kenyan music only.
Veteran producer Tedd Josiah is one of the people who felt that it was too late for the DJ to offer support.
Tedd Josiah shared his sentiments on fellow producer Amin Elchie's Facebook wall.
"The horrible things that have happened to artistes because of doors being shut firmly on their faces by this man (DJ Pinye) are so many! I am not talking about artistes who can't sing, I am talking about really talented singers and rappers," Tedd wrote.
When NEWSPOT254 called Tedd, he accused Pinye of pretense.
"He has years of monopoly, but he stepped on very talented artistes and denied them a chance to grow. He is just seeking relevance." Tedd told NEWSPOT254.
Pinye, on the other hand did not pick nor respond to our text messages by the time we were going online.
